2017 Electric Motorcycle Guide
We are almost in 2017, and here is a catalog of electric motorcycles in production and available for purchase.
We start with the bikes being produced in the USA and in Canada. Photos will follow after the tables.
Then we detail the European production. The “market” column indicates if the bikes are being sold outside of Europe.
For the Asian production, we ignored all the Chinese OEM production that is being sold across the world under various importers’ brand names. We also ignored the promising TAILG T600, because it is not yet available. We will update this table as we discover new Chinese brands with up-to-date products and distribution.

nice list, good to make soe confrontation.. still seems that zero motorcycle keeps his best compromise between performance and price.
i have some more question by the way …
1-will be tork motorcycle aviabe in europian markets ?
2-evoke motorycle seems to wanna be in european market too… but in the chart i see only china… how is the things ? and any info about the “krauser “17 model ??
3- Is missing what it looks like to be the big next player near zero and energica.. Voltu motorcycle… by their intention in 17’they will launch the voltu v 1R..
Thanks Matteo. Tork is still working on its production model and it will be a slow roll out limited to the cities of Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi. They say they have received more than 1000 orders, so it will take some time before they go to Europe. The same for Evoke, they have limited distribution for now, I think they need some more financing to develop production and distribution.
Re Voltu, it is a beautiful bike, but they are no new news about when it will be available, so I did not include it in the guide.
http://www.lanacion.com.ar/1961773-asi-es-voltu-la-moto-electrica-con-sello-argentino by this article .. and other internet news.. early 17′ by the way they didn’t have done any ufficial annuonce so i kinda deduce that they are not really sure when this is coming out. i will keep an eye btw… if they really are going to pull out a 90 hp with 16,5 kwh battery plus fat charging on board at 15000 euros-
Thanks for the link. Yes at €15 000, or $15,000, this bike would be a killer. But I am not holding my breath, I don’t think that price is achievable as of today. We will see when it comes to market…
Johammer is Austrian and although there’s a dealer there, they’re not from the Netherlands.
Thanks, you are right. Will correct.
hello. i’m a student. i’m searching about number of electric motorcycle in the world per country from 1990 to 2016. may you help me and send that statistics?
tank you sir
Sorry I don’t have that data, and I don’t think it exists.
How about a related but simpler question. How many bikes has Zero sold each year?
I got a Zero S at the end of 2016. I’m 61, and it’s my first motorcycle. It isn’t a middle-age crazy thing. I have no craving to join the biker lifestyle. Instead it’s because I’m an avid environmentalist and feel a need to do all that I can to promote the cause in light of the American election. I feel that I now have the most fuel efficient vehicle ever made that’s capable of highway speed. I hope for wider adoption by like-minded people.
