Foldable scooters seem to inspire designers across the world and all kinds of projects are seeking financing. Here are two of the latest concepts featured on Kickstarter.

The E.T comes from China, and if the Kickstarter campaign goes well, production should start in January 2015. For the US market, a 250W motor will propel the E.T to a top speed of 32 km/h (20 mph). A lithium polymer battery provides a 35 km (22 miles) range. Thanks to its aluminum frame, the scooter weights only 30 kg (66 lb). The E.T will be priced at $2,990.

The Impossible scooter is also a Chinese project but has a very different design: a carbon fiber frame built around circles. The saddle is also the carrying case, and when folded, the whole scooter fits into a backpack. It weighs 5 kg (11 lb), and is 17 in (43 cm) tall when folded. Ten 2,900 mAh batteries give it a 15.5 miles range, and top speed is 12.5 mph. The Impossible should be available in August 2015, with prices starting at $430.
