L-Trott is a French brand of electric kick-scooters, but the rally is open to any kind of electric kick-scooter (trottinette in French). The event will be more of a fun meeting than a competition, and will end with a pic-nick .
It seems to be a great way to popularize a mode of electric mobility that is still relatively new in France, where several brands are now selling electric kick-scooters.
L-Trott is marketing the model 65, a 10.4 kg (23 lb.) foldable scooter made in China. With its 250W brushless electric motor in the front wheel, the L-Trott 65 has a top speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The 6.5Ah lithium-polymer battery and regenerative breaking give it a 20 km (12.5 miles) range. An aluminum frame, a rear shock absorber, an LED lighting system and a horn are all standard. The price is €799 ($1,035).
Is this kind of rally an idea we should copy in cities across the USA to popularize electric mobility on 2 wheels?
