The young Japanese company is showing its A4000i at EICMA, the famous show for two-wheelers that is opening this week in Milan, Italy.

Terra announced a distribution partnership with the Italian firm Spesso. It is going to market its electric scooter in Italy first and then, within a year, in 3 to 5 other European countries.

Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Motors, said “Terra has the largest market share in Japan and has expanded into Asian countries. However, demand for electric scooters has increased rapidly in Europe, because of the concern about energy and the environment.”

Terra claims that the A4000i is entirely produced in Japan and is the first electric scooter with full iPhone connectivity. Screen Shot 2014-11-02 at 4.10.09 AM

With the arrival of Terra, the electric scooter market in Europe is becoming more and more competitive, and it will be interesting to follow the sales numbers in the different national markets.

Nope! No motorcycle, only Terra scooters on the stand.

I have owned more than 15 electric ‘cycles.

Imo, 1000 watts power output, even from a hub motor that “does not get hot”, like the latest inventions from Taiwan, cannot provide a 60 km range, nor 60 kph top speed, unless there is a mechanical multi-speed transmission.
